My research employs genomic, developmental, and genetic approaches to understanding problems in plant evolutionary biology. Areas of current interest include characterization of the Amborella and avocado genomes, which lie at and near the base of flowering-plant phylogeny (respectively), reconstruction of whole-genome duplication history, and uncovering the genetic basis for adaptive radiations.
