I was looking for a relevant journal in the field of quality of life research that is accessible widely and has a quick review process. Health and Quality of Life Outcomes met my needs.

What was your assessment of the electronic submission and peer review process?

The electronic publication process worked very smoothly. You feel in control during the whole process. The peer review was very quick and the publication appeared surprisingly fast. I also appreciate the preliminary publication. This gives readers a chance to get informed about what is coming next.

What do you think you gained from publishing in an open access journal?

I like the idea of free access. Knowledge should be free and easily accessible. Hopefully my work will also reach researchers outside the field of quality of life - thanks to the free access over the Internet.
