Postpay Membership

This is a system whereby group members are invoiced in arrears for articles authored by their members that have published in a BioMed Central, Chemistry Central or SpringerOpen journal since the last invoice date. Invoice schedules are set on a monthly or quarterly cycle.

Postpay Membership is suitable for medical and scientific societies and groups who wish to support open access publishing, and their members who wish publish in our open access journals. Groups can sign up for Membership and their researchers can publish in the journals without directly incurring the article-processing charge (APC).

What are the benefits of Postpay Membership?

• The Postpay option enables groups to become involved in open access publishing without having to find a large amount of money at the outset, spreading the cost throughout their Membership term.
• Administration and payment obligations are taken away from the Member group's individual researchers wishing to publish in our open access journals. Individual researchers within the group or society organization will be able to submit an unlimited number of research articles to our journals without directly incurring the article-processing charge each time their paper is accepted for publication.
• Online statistics are available 24/7 to allow customers to view article submissions and publications from their organization. The reporting user guide gives an overview on how to best access and use this tool.
• Email alerts are sent to administrators each time an article is submitted.
• Members have a customized web page on BioMed Central, which will act as a permanent showcase for the Member group. This page will feature: titles and links to relevant articles generated by the Member institution and published in BioMed Central's open access journals.
• Automated Article-Deposits into your repository - any article published will be automatically deposited into the Postpay Member's institutional repository. This new Membership feature will provide greater efficiency for both authors and repository administrators.
