In the present study we studied and updated the prevalence of the infections caused by gastrointestinal nematodes and Fasciola hepatica in grazing sheep in the northwest of Spain and its relationship with the current climatic conditions. In individuals with high cardiovascular disease risk, eating a Mediterranean diet supplemented with olive oil or nuts reduces diastolic blood pressure (BP) more than a low-fat diet, suggesting the Mediterranean diet could be beneficial for BP control.
