In this cross-sectional survey of 86 podiatrists, findings indicate that podiatrists in Australia are not aware of formal guidelines to manage patients with rheumatoid arthritis and that foot care provision does not appear to meet current recommended standards for management of foot problems of patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

In this study, a mixed methods approach is used in which 29 patients with rheumatoid arthritis completed a survey and 12 completed semi-structured interviews. Through their findings, the authors highlight a significant shortfall in footwear and foot care access in Australia.
