Editor’s summary
This paper describes the plasma cytokines and chemokines present as well as PBMC cell population composition during uncomplicated malaria infection in pre-school children living in malaria endemic regions of Nigeria. This study confirms observations of previous studies and is consistent with immune responses during active malaria infection.
