The authors present a clinical validation of a new RDT kit for malaria diagnosis called OnSite. The validation was performed in Bangladesh where both P. falciparum and P. vivax co-circulate. In this report, the authors compared the performance of the RDT with microscopy and nested PCR. They found high sensitivity and specificity for the kit in the detection of both species of Plasmodium.
