Describes a PCR-based survey of Plasmodium infections in monkeys in Rondonia. Nearly 200 monkey blood samples were screened with 18S rRNA based primers designed for this study, and some individual samples were followed up with more detailed amplification and sequencing. The data adds information to our understanding of simian Plasmodium in the Amazon.
