Editor’s summary
In regions of Uganda endemic for zoonotic sleeping sickness, uptake of farmer-driven tsetse control methods that use cattle as live baits, is constrained by the popularity of amidine-based veterinary insecticides available on the private market. We recommend market regulation to increase the numbers of cattle that are treated with synthetic pyrethroids effective against both tsetse flies, nuisance flies and ticks.
