Postpay Membership

This system is a Membership program whereby group members are invoiced in arrears for articles authored by their members that have published in our journals since the last invoice date. Invoice schedules are set on a monthly or quarterly cycle.

Postpay Membership is suitable for medical and scientific societies and groups who wish to support open access publishing and their members who wish to in publishing in our open access journals. Groups can sign up for Membership and their researchers can publish in any of BioMed Central journals without directly incurring the APC.

How do I keep track of articles published on my account?

A quarterly or monthly invoice will be sent to the Membership administrators containing a statement that details the papers that have been published since their last invoice, allowing administrators to stay updated on which papers have been published by their Members.

Email alerts are sent to the Member's administrators each time an article recognized as being authored by their investigators is submitted to our journals. This allows administrators to questions submissions from authors not believed to be from the Member organization.

Online statistics are available 24/7 to allow customers to view article submissions and publications from the organizations.

How much does the Article Processing Charge cost for group Members?

The Article Processing Charge varies per journal; for further information click here. The Article Processing Charges are set in the GB Pound Value at the time of article submission. Please note that even though the Article Processing Charges are set in the GB Pound value, the Membership invoices sent to customers can be in US Dollars, Euros or GB Pounds depending on their location.

The benefit of choosing the postpay Membership option?

• The quarterly postpay option enables groups to become involved in open access publishing without having to find a large amount of money at the outset, spreading the cost throughout their Membership term.
  
  
• Administration and payment obligations are taken away from the member group's individual researchers wishing to publish in our open access journals. Individual researchers within the group or society organization will be able to submit an unlimited number of research articles to our journals without directly incurring the article processing charge each time their paper is accepted for publication.
  
  
• All institutional subscriptions to BioMed Central products purchased by member groups qualify for a 10% discount on the list prices.
  
  
• Members have a customized web page on BioMed Central, which will act as a permanent showcase for the member group. This page will feature: titles and links to relevant articles generated by the member institution and published in BioMed Central's Open Access journals.
