Delighted delegates explore the Frontiers of Retrovirology

Two new awards announced for 4th Annual Research Awards
In 2010, Genome Biology will be celebrating its 10th anniversary and shall present a special prize at our 4th Annual Research Awards to mark the occasion. In addition, BioMed Central will present an award recognising the best image or movie published in Biology Image Library during 2009. Nominations for these awards, along with the Biology and Medicine Prizes can be made via the research awards website.
 
New targets for the treatment of methotrexate resistance
Key genes involved in the development of resistance to methotrexate chemotherapy are reported in "Networking of differentially expressed genes in human cancer cells resistant to methotrexate", a research article recently published in Genome Medicine.

New from Journal of Biology
David Burt discusses the impact of the recently sequenced bovine genome on our understanding of bovine phylogeny and the genomics of domestication, and Anthony Capuco and Mike Akers review a new report in Genome Biology which compares the bovine genome with other mammalian genomes to study how lactation and its regulation evolved.
