Journal of Ovarian Research aims to provide a forum for high-quality basic and clinical research on ovarian function, abnormalities, and cancer.
Founding Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Ovarian Research, Sham S. Kakar launched this journal with BioMed Central in 2008.

Sham S. Kakar

Sham S. Kakar obtained his doctoral degree in Biochemistry from the National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, India in 1983 and conducted his post-doctoral research at Baylor College of Medicine and Medical College of Ohio. In 1988 he then obtained his faculty position at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is currently a professor at the University of Louisville, Department of Physiology and Biophysics, Department of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Division of Medical Oncology and James Graham Brown Cancer Center. Professor Kakar's research interests are focused on cancer research, specifically on ovarian cancer. Sham S. Kakar is the founder and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Ovarian Research.
