Dr. Huaxi Xu is Professor and Acting Director of Degenerative Disease Program at Burnham Institute for Medical Research. He has made several important contributions to pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s diseases. Dr.Huaxi Xu’s researches focus on the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying Aß generation. He hopes that the insights from these studies can translate into effective therapies for the treatment or prevention of AD. He has received many honors, including Zenith Fellow Award (2007), Ellison Medical Foundation New Scholars in Aging Award, and “The Ruth Salta Junior Investigator Achievement Award”. He is a Member of NIH Study Section (CDIN) and has served on many NIH grant review panels including NIH ICI Study Section, NIH/NIA SEP (AD drug discovery.
