Cardiovascular Diabetology aims to encompass all research aspects of the diabetes/cardiovascular interrelationship: clinical, experimental, pharmacological, epidemiological, and basic science.
Editor-in-Chief Alexander Tenenbaum launched his journal with BioMed Central in April 2002.

A short biography
Alexander Tenenbaum graduated with a medical degree
and a PhD in the former Soviet Union. He then
became a cardiologist at the Sheba Medical Center,
Tel Hashomer, Israel. Currently, he is the Deputy
Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Institute,
Sheba Medical Center, and Senior Lecturer of Cardiology
at Tel-Aviv University, Israel. His research interests
and areas of expertise include echocardiography,
computed tomography, hypertension, heart failure
and cardiovascular drug therapy. During recent
years he has become especially involved in the
research of various aspects of the metabolic syndrome,
obesity and the diabetes/cardiovascular interrelationship.
