Cardiovascular Diabetology aims to encompass all research aspects of the diabetes/cardiovascular interrelationship: clinical, experimental, pharmacological, epidemiological, and basic science.

Editor-in-Chief Enrique Fisman launched his journal with BioMed Central in April 2002.

A short biography
Enrique Fisman graduated with a medical degree from Buenos Aires University, Argentina. Subsequently, he achieved the degree of Academic Cardiologist at the same university and worked for seven years at Carlos G. Durand Hospital in Buenos Aires. His research interests encompass numerous fields of cardiology, with emphasis on Doppler and exercise echocardiography, hemodynamics of estrogens, diagnostic expediency of dynamic and isometric stress testing, sports cardiology, epidemiology, hypertension, and cardiovascular pharmacology. Since 1998, he has been involved in the research of several clinical topics regarding the diabetes/cardiovascular interrelationship at Sheba Medical Center, Tel-Hashomer, Israel. Since 2002, he has served as an Editor-in-Chief of Cardiovascular Diabetology. He is a Professor of Cardiology at Tel-Aviv University and Honorary Professor of Cardiology at University del Salvador, Buenos Aires
