New Research Evaluation Tool for the CNRS
The Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), the main French government-funded research organisation, has given its lab heads access to Faculty of 1000 Biology to better assess the research that CNRS funds and the suitability of applicants. Faculty of 1000 Biology is an online service published by Biomed Central that systematically highlights and reviews the most interesting papers published in the life sciences, based on the recommendations of over 1400 leading scientists. Heads of research at CNRS will use Faculty of 1000 Biology as part of EvalSciences, an experimental service provided by INIST, the highly specialised document centre of CNRS, which is currently available to 60 individuals at CNRS who evaluate research within the organisation.
