Culture and psychiatry – a look at child psychiatry in Asia

Culture has a strong influence in the field of psychiatry. This special series, published in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Mental Health, explores the state of child psychiatry service in Asia, a culturally diverse continent. Each article focuses on a specific Asian country and reviews the epidemiology of child psychiatric disorders and the state of child psychiatric treatment services, with some highlights of the influence of various cultural factors.
