Ina Bergheim, Christiane Bode, Alexandr Parlesak BMC Clinical Pharmacology 2005, 5:4 (27 October 2005)

Abstract | Full text | PDF | PubMed | Cited on BioMed Central |  Editor’s summary

Expression of different cytochrome P450 enzymes in the human colon varies between individuals and in different parts of the mucosa - expression of cytochrome 2C mRNA is higher in the proximal colon compared to distal colon, whereas expression of cytochrome 2E1 and 3A5 is higher in the distal colon compared to more proximal regions.
