Pinpointing CLOCK in the Drosophila larval CNS. DACHSUND (DAC;yellow) is a protein widely expressed is the L3 larval CNS including the non-oscillator Kenyon cells required for olfactory learning and memory. Although DAC cross-reacts with polyclonal serum against CLOCK (CLK), the Drosophila circadian protein, CLK expression (red) occurs exclusively in circadian oscillator cells. DAC was detected with anti-DAC (green) and appears yellow where it co-localizes with the cross-reacting GP47 polyclonal antiserum against CLK (red).
