Immunological and clinical chemistry tests indicate that the improvement in CD4+ cell count of HIV/Hepatitis C (HCV) co-infected subjects under highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) is lower than HIV mono-infected individuals but that mono-infected patients respond better to HAART.
