Image of the Month – August 2007
P2Y1 receptor localization in the neonatal rat cerebellum. The P2 receptor for extracellular nucleotides P2Y1 (red immunofluorescence) is present in the Bergmann glia of the cerebellar cortex of the rat at postnatal day 7 and on Bergmann fibers, which are closely intertwined with granule neurons. These neurons are visualized with a granule-cell-specific marker, DCX (green immunofluorescence) and areas of signal overlap appear yellow in this confocal image.
