Image of the Month – July 2007
RNAi of protein kinase D in the Drosophila wing disc. Tissue specific RNA interference (RNAi) in the larval wing disc resulted in a smaller posterior wing compartment (stained red with anti-engrailed antibodies) and impaired cellular proliferation. The slight decrease in replicating cells resulting from protein kinase D RNAi induction was not overtly apparent from the quantity of mitotic cells in the wing disc (stained green with anti-phospho-Histone H3 antibodies).
