Image of the Month - March 2007

Pattern of proliferation and G1 arrest in the fly eye. Projection of confocal sections of a wild-type Drosophila eye disc showing the morphogenetic furrow (MF), which is highlighted by the accumulation of Armadillo (beta-catenin), with Ato expression being localized in photoreceptors anterior to the MF, and Elav in more posterior photoreceptors. The image shows staining for Armadillo in green, Elav in red and Ato in blue.
