Image of the Month – January 2006

Early differentiation markers for embryonic stem (ES) cells. Immunochemistry with newly developed antibodies confirmed high expression levels of Oct3/4, Nanog, SOX2, E-cadherin and podocalyxin-like (PODXL) in undifferentiated human ES cells (A, B, and C) and minimal or no expression of these markers in the differentiated embryoid bodies (D, E and F).
