Loss of CalpB delays border cell migrationCalpB, a Drosophila melanogaster gene coding for a calpain enzyme is involved in the migration of border cells in Drosophila egg chambers. Image shows a confocal micrograph of an egg chamber at stage 10A from Drosophila lacking CalpB expression. The border cell cluster, indicated with an arrow, exhibits delayed migration in comparison with wild-type egg chambers. The slbo-Gal4 driven GFP marker is highlighted in green, actin network is stained red (phalloidin-TRITC ), and nuclei are blue (DAPI).
