Formation of the extra-embryonic region of the egg cylinder
After implantation, two regions of the mouse conceptus can be distinguished: the embryonic region and extra-embryonic region. An enrichment of actin can be seen in the folded region of the extra-embryonic ectoderm at E5.0 using confocal microscopy, visualized by labeling cell borders (actin staining with phalloidin-Texas, red immunofluorescence) and nuclei (Histone2B-GFP, green immunofluorescence).
