GSK-3 inhibitor treatment increases inter-kinetochore distance in DLD-1 cells. The treatment also increases the incidence of unaligned chromosomes and abnormal metaphase spindles, all pointing to a role for glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) in accurate chromosome segregation. GSK-3 inhibitor treated DLD-1 (Human colon adenocarcinoma) cells were fixed and stained to show kinetochore-microtubule interactions and spindle morphology. Centromeres are stained in red, kinetochores (BubR1) in green, and microtubules in blue.
