Image of the Month – December 2006

Weak intracellular localization of the phosphodiesterase 9A (PDE9A) splice variant PDE9A1 to the endoplasmic reticulum. In vitro expression of PDE9A-GFPs through utilization of two different start codons produces a number of splice variants that show specific subcellular localization. PDE9A1-GFP appears as green and the endoplasmic reticulum marker calnexin in red.
