Kinesin-1 localization in human colonic mucosa. Cross-sections of normal human colonic mucosa show an enrichment of the microtubule motor protein kinesin-1 (red) at the areas of cell-cell contacts where it colocalizes (arrows) with JAM-A, a component of the apical junctional complex. In contrast, kinesin-2 shows diffuse intracellular distribution.
