Guanylic-nucleotide starvation affects mother-daughter cell separation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Electron micrographs of budding yeast cells treated with mycophenolic acid (MPA), to deplete intracellular GTP; such cells frequently bud to produce two daughter cells.
