PtdIns3P at the plasma membrane
Mouse fibroblast NIH3T3 cells were deprived of serum for approx. 30 hours and injected with PH-AKT-GFP plasmid. Following serum stimulation PI3K is activated producing the lipid phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate. The PH-AKT-GFP protein strongly binds PtdIns3P resulting in its association with the plasma membrane and redistribution of fluorescence.
