This section incorporates all aspects of comparative genomic analysis including but not limited to: methods and applications for the analysis of comparative phylogenetic and genomic data.

Imaging, image analysis and data visualization

This section incorporates all aspects of imaging and bioimage informatics, including but not limited to: microscopic and biomedical image acquisition methods and applications, methods and applications of image analysis and related machine learning, pattern recognition and data mining techniques, image oriented multidimensional data and metadata visualization techniques, methods and applications of bioimage annotation and ontology generation.

Knowledge-based analysis

This section incorporates all aspects of knowledge-based analysis in biology including but not limited to: methods for the processing of text, ontologies and other computational representations of biological knowledge, as well as applications of knowledge-based systems for gaining insight into biology and biological data.

Networks analysis

This section incorporates all aspects of network analysis including but not limited to: methods for predicting, analyzing and visualizing networks, and applications to systems biology.

Proteomics

This section incorporates all aspects of proteomic analysis including but not limited to: methods and applications for the analysis of post-translational modifications, proteomic, mass spectroscopic, and chemoinformatic data.

Sequence analysis (applications)

This section incorporates all aspects of sequence analysis applications, including but not limited to: software, workflows and webservers dealing with applied sequence/genome analysis, sequence assembly, analysis of sequence features, and protein function and ligand binding, estimated through sequence features.

Sequence analysis (methods)

This section incorporates all aspects of sequence analysis methodology, including but not limited to: sequence alignment algorithms, discrete algorithms, phylogeny algorithms, gene prediction and sequence clustering methods.

Structural analysis

This section incorporates all aspects of structural analysis including but not limited to: methods and applications for the analysis of biological structures, protein structural and biophysical analysis, and structure-based drug design.

Transcriptome analysis

This section incorporates all aspects of transcriptomic analysis including but not limited to: methods and applications for the analysis of microarray and RNA-seq data.
