What prompted you to submit a manuscript to one of BioMed Central's open access journals?
Fast publication schedule while maintaining rigorous peer-review is really appealing to me. The journal commits to give authors a decision following peer review within four weeks. Also, it's open accessed journal, and therefore makes the study accessible to readers worldwide, free of charge. In the genomic era, the speed of publication and availability to readers are critically important for a research.
What was your assessment of the electronic submission and peer review process?
I felt that the electronic submission is easy and the review process is very professional and rapid that was one factor I like very much. I also like the policy "immediate publication on acceptance".
