What prompted you to submit an article?
Open access, the lack of constraints on length, and the promise of a fast and democratic review process all prompted me to submit an article.
What was your assessment of the electronic submission and peer review process?
The electronic submission works smoothly enough, although the procedure for figure submission could use improvements. The review process is well organized, although I think it could be made even faster.
What do you think you gained from publishing in an open access journal?
The ability to publish in full several papers that would have had to be cut severely, to the detriment of the message, in other, more traditional journals. Of course, the fact that these lengthy treatises immediately become available to everyone free of charge is a great benefit too.
