Christos Lionis
MD, Associate Professor of Social and Family Medicine at the Department of Social Medicine, University of Crete, Greece
Christos Lionis entered the University of Athens Medical School in 1973 and graduated in 1979. He acted as the manager and medical director of the Spili Health Centre, a pilot for the University of Crete Primary Care Centre, for 9 years, getting experiences as a clinician and researcher in the field of Primary Health Care and General Practice. He is now an Associate Professor of Social and Family Medicine at the Department of Social Medicine, University of Crete.

I was looking for a prompt publication process and open peer-review.
What was your assessment of the electronic submission and peer review process?
The assessment of my article was rapid and the criticism and commentary that characterised the peer review process were of high quality.
What do you think you gained from publishing in an open access journal?
It is a new experience and feeling, creating a different climate that promotes quality research.
