Objective

Toestablish the database of clinical RCT, CCT and diagnostic tests on different specialty in China, thereby promote the establishing of database of Chinese Cochrane Center, provide evidence for health care and provide data for people who conduct SR on different specialty in and out of China.

Methods

1. From Jan. 1999, on the basis of training and the practice of handsearching, doctors, nurses or technicians of different specialty submitted the proposal of project of how to search the journals published in China and establish the database of clinical RCT, CCT or diagnostic tests on their specialty to the Chinese Cochrane Center.

2. Chinese Cochrane Center examined and approved their proposal according to the criteria of journal searching of the Cochrane Collaboration and Clinical Epidemiology and gave funding to every project from 5000 to 10000RMB.

3. Principal member of project is responsible for the searching and the establishing of the database, submitting the report about their work to the Chinese Cochrane Center termly.

4. At less 5 kinds of journal should be searched in every project. One project should be finished in 1 to 2 years according the amount of journals.

Results

□ 26 projects have been submitted to Chinese Cochrane Center.

□ 20 projects have been approved.

□ 12 specialty databases have been established including more than 5000 RCT, CCT and diagnostic tests.

Conclusion

Utilizing the mode of project to establish the database of clinical RCT, CCT and diagnostic tests on different specialty is fit for the condition of China. It could let more people involving in this work and promote the establishing of database of Chinese Cochrane Center.
