With the multipoint algorithm additional points are calculated in the middle between the markers, therefore, the 26 data points shown in the graph correspond to 13 microsatellite markers tested. GUSB is localized between SW72 and SW251 as confirmed by radiation hybrid panel analyses. SW251 was not used in the genome wide linkage scan, but is indicated as rectangular on the x-axis.
