Overall performance on the 28 marker items for UK graduates taking the 1996/2 and 2001/3 diets of the examination, on their first and subsequent attempts. Until diet 1999/2 candidates were only allowed to take the exam four times, whereas after 1999/2 they were allowed unlimited attempts. Fewer than 20 candidates were on their 6th or higher attempt, and they have been omitted from the analysis.
