(A)Hypoxia inducible factor (HIF)1α, Hif2α, adrenomedullin (Adm) and lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA) expression in maternal blood sampled from women in the FGR cohort, grouped according to umbilical artery velocimetry waveform findings (SDR = Raised systolic/diastolic ratio; AEDF = Absent end diastolic flow; REDF = Reversed end diastolic flow). AEDF and REDF results were compared with SDR findings. (B) Expression of Hif1α in paired samples of maternal blood obtained around 24 hours apart from the FGR cohort, where umbilical artery velocimetry findings either acutely improved (C) or worsened after administration of corticosteroids.
