Michael Rutter is Professor of Developmental Psychopathology at the Institute of Psychiatry,
Kings College London, and Consultant Psychiatrist at the Maudsley Hospital, London. He is founder of the Medical Research Council Child Psychiatry Research Unit and
also the MRC Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Centre. His research interests
include the genetics of autism, the development of diagnostic and screening measures
for autism, antisocial behavior, studies of both school and family influences on children’s
behavior, and the interplay between genetic and psychosocial risk factors.
