(b) Phosphorylation site stabilisation at a protein-protein interface. An extended segment of phosphorylated serotonin N-acetyltransferase (AANAT) (mainchain, cyan and TPO 31, pink) binds to 14-3-3 (orange mainchain), with surrounding residues colour-coded by type (blue basic, red acidic, yellow polar uncharged, grey non-polar).
