Infection-induced urinary excretion of dietary CrEDTA. Infection-induced urinary excretion of dietary CrEDTA after oral S. enteritidis infection (n = 8 per diet) in rats fed the control diet or the same diet supplemented
with BSO or cystine. Results, expressed as means ± SE, were corrected for baseline
(pre infection) permeability. Baseline CrEDTA output was identical in all groups.
The asterisk indicates a significant difference from the control group (p < 0.05).
