Species of Leptoseris, a light-dependent coral found at depths of 67100 m, harbor the common shallow-water dinoflagellate Symbiodinium, suggesting that adaptation of Leptoseris to deep water does not depend on a specialist symbiont.
BMC Ecology 2009, 9:19
Spatial genetic patterns of the coral Pocillopora damicornis across East African reefs reveal variable degrees of ecological and evolutionary isolation and help to identify potential source reefs and genetically isolated reefs to aid management decisions

BMC Ecology 2009, 9:15
Extra-pair paternity is common in Australian fairy wrens, but one species, the purple-crowned fairy wren, is surprisingly faithful despite sharing life history parameters with other birds in this genus, suggesting that minor inter-specific differences can cause radical shifts in behavior.
