Tumor formation ability of spheroids. Cells were grown in serum-free medium (SFM) as nonadherent cervospheres and assayed for the ability to form tumors after s.c. injection on nu-nu mice at 1 × 103, 1 × 104, and 1 × 105 cells per injection. At the same time, adherent cells were assayed at 1 × 105, 5 × 105, and 1 × 106 cells per injection. The number of tumors that formed and the number of injections performed are indicated for each condition |
