Immunohistochemistry analysis showed the expression of HPV-E6 protein in 178 cervical cancer samples. HPV-E6 protein expression in 79 squamous samples was significantly lower as compared with those in 99 adeno samples. (χ2 = 4.214, P = 0.04). HPV-E6 protein was correlated with lymph metastasis. (χ2 = 16.049, P < 0.001).
