Adjusted mean of left ventricular (LV) mass, LV diameter and left atrial (LA) diameter,
all indexed to height, according to number of features of the metabolic syndrome estimated
by multiple logistic regression (lower panel). In each chart, three models are presented:
adjusting for age and gender (blue line), adjusting for the predicted 10-year risk
of coronary heart disease by the Framingham risk score (orange) and adjusting for
age, gender and systolic blood pressure (green). The dotted lines represent 95% confidence
intervals of estimates. P values are for linear trend and were estimated by running
the same models with the number of features of the metabolic syndrome as a continuous
variable.
