Accumulation of total phenolics was analyzed in freeze dried, field collected C. maculosa leaf tissues using the Folin-Ciocalteu method. Values are expressed as mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE) per gram dry weight of plant tissue. Means and standard errors are shown. Stand type significantly affected total phenolics accumulation (t = 6.94, p < 0.0001).
