Intronic microRNAs support their host genes by mediating synergistic and antagonistic regulatory effects

Dominik Lutter, Carsten Marr, Jan Krumsiek, Elmar W Lang, Fabian J Theis BMC Genomics 2010, 11:224 (6 April 2010)

Host and target genes of intronic microRNAs show significantly correlated gene expression profiles, and functional similarities between host and predicted microRNA target genes indicate that microRNAs connect gene activity either synergistically or antagonistically.
