TRBD genes have the potential to be read in all 3 reading frames, and with the exception of the 3rd reading frame of TRBD1 encode at least 1 glycine residue. (B) The TRBJ genes. TRBJ1-3 is predicted to be non-functional due to loss of consensual RS heptamer sequence (bold and underlined).(†) In the genome TRBJ1-2 has a frameshift due a single base pair deletion in the TRBJ region and would therefore be predicted to be a pseudogene, but based on sequences correlating with this TRBJ gene derived from cDNA analyses we have introduced a thymidine (shown in parentheses).
