Corresponding author (Fisher) has since published proof that mouse DSPP is cleaved by BMP1 at the expected MQXDDP motif as discussed in the above publication. (Dentin sialophosphoprotein (DSPP) is cleaved into its two natural dentin matrix products by three isoforms of bone morphogenetic protein-1 (BMP1). von Marschall Z, Fisher LW.
